Meso Therapy

Introduction To Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a type of cosmetic medicinal treatment without any kind of surgery. The treatment involves using various injections of homeopathic treatment, pharmaceuticals, plant extracts, vitamins, and other ingredients, that are customized as per individual’s need. These injections are inserted in the subcutaneous fat that lies below the epidermis. Mesotherapy also helps prevent hair fall. It has received tremendous results and popularity in Europe and the USA. There are 90 % chances of satisfactory results with this therapy, which is quite high in comparison to other therapies.

Types

  • Invasive : Invasive mesotherapy is the traditional way of inserting the treatment solution at the hair follicle using microinjections. The composition used in these injections is customized as per the problems and requirements of an individual. It is a minimally invasive procedure that is widely used in Europe for various purposes.
  • Non-invasive : It is a relatively new procedure that has similar benefits without any injections. In this therapy, various active substances (Treatment gels) are inserted in the tissue using laser technology, electric impulses, special modules, and micro-needling (Using dermarollers, derma pens, skin pens, etc). This treatment is gaining popularity because it gives a better experience while treatment and is way more comfortable.

Indications

Different forms of alopecia or baldness are the common indications for mesotherapy. Repetitive and excessive hair loss, thinning of the hairline, receding hairline, patterned hair loss, etc. are clear signs that one should opt for mesotherapy before it is too late.

The patient must follow these simple rules after the procedure:

  • Do not take a shower within five hours following the procedure.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for at least two weeks after the procedure.
  • Intake of Vitamin E or anti-inflammatory medicines must be avoided.
  • Drink lots of water and avoid alcohol.
  • Do not use the Sauna, Jacuzzi within 48 hours of the procedure.

Benefits

The main benefits include regeneration and regrowth of hair. This is the reason why most of the people prefer to take this treatment.

The procedure varies according to the problems but usually, ten sessions are required to complete the treatment. The sessions are arranged at an interval of two weeks initially but the frequency can be decreased later. A session typically takes ten to thirty minutes. The time taken in a particular session depends on the area of the treatment.
